Dr. Yuchen (Cherry) Gao

Growing up in Edmonton, Dr. Cherry Gao attended the University of Alberta, where she obtained both her Bachelor of Medical Sciences and her Doctor of Dental Surgery. During her studies in dental school, she volunteered at the Boyle McCauley Health Centre SHINE Dental Clinic and travelled to Morropón, Peru for a dental mission. She has completed continuing education courses in Endodontics and Periodontics.

Dr. Gao strongly believes in a patient-centered approach to the practice of dentistry. She takes the time to understand patient needs and aims to improve their oral healthcare beyond their time in the dental chair. As with all aspects of healthcare, she believes that prevention is the best treatment, so she is passionate about patient education. She performs all aspects of general dentistry and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and despite being a little rusty, she also understands some French.

Outside of work, Dr. Gao loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and skiing. She also loves discovering new eateries and bakeries around town, so any recommendations are always welcome!
